Early 2025 Confindustria survey: industrial confidence

In January, the business confidence among large industrial companies in Confindustria showed signs of improvement compared to the end of 2024.
According to the survey, 28.7% of companies expect an expansion in production over the coming months, while 59.9% foresee stable production levels. Only 11.4% anticipate a contraction, either slight or significant.

These figures highlight a phase of consolidation and resilience for the Italian manufacturing sector, following a 2024 marked by slowdowns and cost pressures.

⚙️ Production Costs Remain Under Pressure

Despite the more optimistic outlook, production costs continue to pose a challenge for many companies.
The balance, although improving compared to -5.0% in December, remains negative at -2.8%, mainly due to rising energy prices.

Financial conditions remain generally positive (+1.4%), showing that companies have managed to maintain economic balance and prudent resource management. However, material availability remains a critical factor (-2.2%), though it is showing signs of improvement.

🔧 The Importance of Advanced Maintenance for Competitiveness

In this context, the ability to optimize time, costs, and production resources becomes a key element of competitiveness.
Solutions such as those offered by E-Repair, based on advanced maintenance, electronic regeneration, and the MAAS – Maintenance as a Service model, enable companies to:

  • reduce downtime and extraordinary maintenance costs;

  • improve production resilience;

  • extend the lifespan of industrial electronic equipment;

  • operate in line with circular economy and ESG sustainability principles.

Through the use of digital technologies and on-site or remote interventions, E-Repair supports companies in their transition toward more efficient, sustainable, and continuous production.

🌍 Looking Ahead

The positive signals of 2025 pave the way for a year of gradual recovery for the Italian industrial sector, but managing energy costs and ensuring supply stability remain the main challenges.
Collaboration between companies, suppliers, and technology partners will be crucial to ensure production continuity and economic sustainability.
